Frequently Asked Questions
How do I access my course materials?
All course materials, lessons and resources for your A Level German Summer Course are provided via our bespoke learning platform. You'll receive your own login details and student profile.
I have some plans over the summer holidays. Can I still join the course?
The course is self-paced with tutor support. This means that you can start on any Monday between 1 July and 5 August. The course is organised in 4 modules of 1 week each. It is therefore also possible to take 1, 2 or 3 of the weekly modules and take a break before completing the remaining units.
Can I re-watch lessons once they've been completed?
Yes, all lessons are available to re-watch once completed, and you will still be able to view all of your course materials for one year after completing the modules, so you can refer back to them throughout your German A Level studies if you like.
I'm a current student of KML German Academy. Can I join the German A Level Summer course?
Yes, current students are encouraged to take part in the course and those who have pre-enrolled for the 2024-25 academic year will be invited to join as part of their A Level German programme at no additional cost.
For how many hours per week should I study?
For the German A Level Summer Course, your work is structured as follows: 3 mini lessons + 1 full lesson + 4 hours per week of projects and assignments + vocabulary work. We recommend that you work on your vocabulary lists via the Quizlet app, as the mobile format works well for short, frequent practice sessions. The total number of hours set per week for the Summer Course is therefore around 8.
Is this course suitable for those taking the German A Level with Pearson Edexcel?
Although our main A Level German course is based on the AQA syllabus, the A Level German Summer Course focuses on grammar and developing advanced language proficiency. The content taught in the Summer Course is therefore suitable for those taking the German A Level with other examination boards.
